Happy Halloween!

Well 2012 is here and conventions are abound! Frolicing in the convention meadows of…. well.. whatever type of meadows they frolic in….
This years line up should be quite interesting as I’ve added another con to the list. Right here in good ol’ Austin! So without further ado, here they are in chronological order:
| Date | Name | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Feburary 24-26th | Furry Fiesta | Dallas, TX |
| March 3-4th | STAPLE! | Austin, TX |
| June 1-3rd | A-Kon | Dallas, TX |
| June 14-17th | Anthrocon | Pittsburgh, PA |
Look forward to seeing you all there!

The page was blacked out recently over the SOPA and PIPA bills, and while I usually do not like to post political agenda on this site, I felt this was both significant enough and relevant enough to mention. I prefer to keep most of these types opinions to my personal page. (Which has been dormant for sometime unfortunately.)
I don’t have anything against companies wanting to make money. Far from it in fact, I love making money myself, but the MPAA and RIAA seem unwilling to do what most smart companies do. That smart thing to do is change, their business models are no longer suited to our world. They claim loose money left and right on “piracy”, saying it starves their artists, but some clever accounting on their part is more often to blame.
As an independent artist I long ago realized I can’t stop people from stealing my drawings that I post on the web. It wouldn’t matter how hard I tried, someone will find a way around the protections. But you know what, I don’t make any money off of those images anyway. The only money I make when doing art is when people commission me for private pieces at the conventions I go to.
The MPAA and RIAA could find new and suitable models where they could continue to make money, but they instead want everyone else to conform to their outdated business models. And this time they intend to do so by the censoring of the internet. Do not let these companies trample on our Freedom of Speech! No one should be able to remove your voice without due process!
The blackout page provides a plethora of details about these bills and what you can do to contact your representatives to make sure your opinions are heard on the mater.
Thank you

The first script for the revamp of the comic is in! I have reviewed it, the author has reviewed it, as have a few other people. This script is a whopping 32 pages long, so it should keep me occupied for a while yet.
This week I’m moving to a new apartment but I plan to start drawing on this thing as soon as I get settled into the new place.
For those who want to read the old comic, don’t fret, they will still be available for viewing.

Its time for my quarterly laziness report! =x.x=
Comic
Has not been cancelled, it is just on hold while a rewrite is pending, hopefully with a more exciting plot. I plan to post some concept sketches on this in the future.
It has been inquired as to what the rating of the comic is and will be. The intention is to keep it around a PG or an R (at worst) level. There will be some violence, like the kind you would typically see in your average Shounen manga. (E.g. Naruto, Blue Exorcist, Fairy Tail, etc.) You might see the occasional bad word. *gasp* But it won’t go beyond that. No, there won’t be sex, or even explicit nudity in the comic. Sorry to disappoint, for those of you who like that sort of thing, but its just not something I’m comfortable doing.
Commissions
I still owe people some commissions. One from Furry Fiesta and one from Anthrocon. I plan to get those wrapped up soon. Some people have asked if I will take a commission out side of a con, the answer to that is yes and no. If I have the time I will. And speaking of conventions….
Conventions
2012 cons have been decided upon. As usual they will be Furry Fiesta, A-Kon, and Anthrocon. Come hell nor high water will keep me away from A-Kon next year!
Other News
Saturday’s webcast let this cat out of the bag a bit sooner than I had planned, but I’ll go ahead and make it semi-official at this point. I’m planning on trying my hand at making a fur suit. Keeping in mind this is my first attempt I’m sure it will be terrible beyond belief, but I’m still going to try. I have no idea if I’ll get it done before A-Kon/Anthrocon, but I plan to try. For that matter, I don’t even have a solid concept down yet. It’s still a rough idea batting about inside my skull. I’ll make some regular updates on the progress of this as I go.

Back from Anthrocon! I enjoyed myself overall, I got a few commissions and was able to meet a few new people. Somewhat ironically, I was stopped in the Baltimore airport by another fellow furry on my way back who was asking if I had attended the con; we chatted it up for a while before I had to board my plane, so it was nice getting to talk with him.
I also have made some arrangements, and will be turning over a goodly portion of the writing of my comic to a much more skilled author. Fear not though, I will still have the final say so in the scripts and will still be doing the art.
Unfortunately, as luck would have it, things at my office have gotten way out of hand and I now have to dye my hair back to some sort of simi-natural color and fly out to Chicago tomorrow. If I owe you a commission I’m sorry but this will delay me a bit. I swear I’ll get to it as soon as I get back at the end of this week.
Looking forward to next year’s Anthrocon!
